The Louisville Flyers provide a variety of opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities to participate in sports. The Flyers also support the Mission of Special Olympics Kentucky.
"Our Mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities by giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community."

June 1, 2,& 3 Special Olympics Kentucky State Summer Games for Flag Football and Track at Eastern Kentucky University. Track events begin at 8:45 P.M. on Friday for relay races and at 9:00 A.M. for 50 and 100 meter races at the track venue. The Flag Football team plays games at 12:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. at the Model Soccer Fields.
June 17, 2012 Softball practice for the B and 1A teams 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Highview Park.
June 25, 2012 7pm-8pm, the monthly Parent/Coach/Volunteer meeting at Down Syndrome of Louisville Headquarters at 5001 Hurstbourne Pkwy. Louisville, KY 40291.

The Louisville Flyers Flag Football Team won the 2012 Lexington Invitational and Louisville Regional tournaments to advance to the 2012 State Flag Football Tournament at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
