ABOUT US

The Louisville Flyers were founded in April 2004 by Danny and Karen Lane. The first Flyers team was a track and field team which consisted of only six (6) athletes. That team made it to the State Summer Games and won several medals.

In the fall of 2004, the Flyers expanded to include a basketball team and cheerleading squad. The basketball and cheerleading teams competed in the 2004-2005 regional and state competitions, winning their first state championships.

In the spring of 2005, the Flyers grew to twenty-plus athletes and added additional coaches, ten (10) in all. The track team returned to the State Summer Games that year and again brought home several medals. The basketball and cheerleading teams also took their second state titles.

For the next several years, the Flyers continued to increase our number of athletes, reaching as many as forty and continued to win many medals. In 2010, the Flyers Cheerleading squad won their third State Championship and was named Grand Champions. The first Flyers flag football team was also formed in 2010 and named the State runner up.  We continued to offer track and field, basketball and cheerleading and have added bowling and softball.

The Louisville Flyers have produced some very distinguished athletes. Among them, a  4 x 100 meter relay team that is one of the best in the state. Also, in 2010, Louisville Flyer athlete Timothy Kornrumpf became the first Flyers athlete to participate in the National Special Olympic Games in Lincoln, Nebraska. Timothy won several medals, including the Gold for the 4 x 100 meter relay. Both Danny Lane and Pat Wood helped coach the SOKY National 4 x 100 meter relay team.

The Louisville Flyers continue to strive for excellence both on and off the field!
